Under the theme “Aging of Societies, Bodies and Minds: Historical Trends, Evolution of Functions, and Restoration of Youth”, Umeå University is hosting a scientific symposium to mark the 275 year anniversary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The meeting is concerned with the phenomenon of increasing human longevity in most countries in the world and the arising consequences and implications for future societies.
Among other world-leading scientists, Wolfgang Lutz was invited to discuss this development, and to give a presentation on "The Effects of Education over the Life Course: Macro Level Implications." Lutz is one of the leading researchers in the fields of family demography, fertility analysis, population projection, and the interaction between population and environment, and has received wide recognition for his work in form of grants, awards and his election in a number of National Academies of Sciences.
