Candidates should have their PhD at the time of taking up the appointment and are expected to have a proven record of research accomplishments, and a solid working knowledge of English. Preference will be given to applicants who are nationals of countries where IIASA has a National Member Organization and who have held a doctoral degree for less than five years at the application deadline. The fellowship requires you to be present at IIASA. Please do not apply if you need to be away from the institute to do your research or expect IIASA to fund field research overseas.
The Peter E. de Jánosi Fellowship was established by IIASA in honor of Dr. de Jánosi, who, as director of the institute from 1990 to 1996, guided its transition from a bridge between East and West during the Cold War to its current role as a center for objective, multinational, interdisciplinary analysis of global change. Funding is for up to two years and the fellowship is awarded for application of systems analysis to policy and management issues. Click here for more information on the fellowship.
