Arkady Kryazhimskiy and Yuri Yermoliev have been appointed as PhD supervisors at China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing

The President of China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing has appointed Arkady Kryazhimskiy, Yuri Yermoliev and Gui-Ying Cao as PhD supervisors of the University. The appointments are based on these three IIASA’s Scientists’ contributions to multi-scale, integrated, interdisciplinary approaches for economic -environmental sustainable researches, and their contributions to emerging the IIASA's scientific methods and results into the policy making process.  More

Arkady Kryazhimskiy participated in the International Conference on Systems Dynamics and Control Processes. The Conference took place in Yekaterinburg from 15 to 20 Septemberand was dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of Nikolay Krasovskiy. At the Conference, Arkady Kryazhimskiy gave a plenary talk “Non-anticipatory control strategies: from differential games to incomplete state information”. In his talk he discussed how the idea of non-anticipatory control can travel from differential games to problems of guaranteeing control under incomplete state information.  More

Bernhard Skritek joins ASA

A new researcher joins the ASA program: Bernhard Skritek starts on July 1st. He previously worked at the Vienna University of Technology on the optimal control of heterogeneous systems. At IIASA Bernhard will be working in a joint project of the ASA and the POP program, analyzing the effects of heterogeneity in a population on educational decisions and thus on economic growth.  More
