Top managers from Russian oil and gas companies, including Lukoil, Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, visited Austria this week to participate in high-level training sessions, as part of the Russian Petroleum Business Institute’s executive MBA program.
At IIASA, the group met with Professor Dr. Pavel Kabat, IIASA Chief Executive Officer and Director, and senior research scholars. They discussed IIASA’s unique interdisciplinary approach to research, and how it is applied to global problems such as the environment, energy and social changes. Lead authors from the IIASA led Global Energy Assessment also talked about the influence of applied research in the field of energy and petroleum industry development.
While in Austria the delegation also met with representatives of government bodies, major businesses, and R&D centers. Their aim is to get first-hand information about the oil and gas sector in Austria, including projects, scientific and investment policy, and prospects of bilateral scientific, technological and business cooperation.
For the last 15 years the Russian Petroleum Business Institute
has been actively implementing a wide range of educational and research programs for specialists and managers of Russian petroleum companies, as well as providing top-level consulting services in company management and oil field exploration and exploitation. The Institute is involved in a wide range of activities, including development of educational programs and professional competence standards, as well as consulting in oil company management and oil field exploration and exploitation. Today the Institute has 2000 trainees annually, 350 companies’ participants and 50 career enhancement programs, seminars and training courses for petroleum business managers and specialists.
