To the present parents aimed at a higher living standard for their children than they had themselves. The new book "Zunkunft Denken" (which translates into thinking of the future) discusses the question if this is still true today and in the future.
In a discussion with Peter Pelinka from the Austrian magazine NEWS, the book authors European Forum Alpbach president Franz Fischler and IIASA's World Population Program Director Wolfgang Lutz will present the key messages of their book for the first time and will try to picture possible scenarios for the future.

The book "Zukunft Denken" is the result of an in depth discussion between Franz Fischler and Wolfgang Lutz about various critical issue of central importance for the future of Austria and the world as a whole. Their findings revolve around the conclusion that societies can only master the challenges of the 21st century if they invest in education and human resources to a great degree.
