Conference at El Colegio de México

POP Program Director Wolfgang Lutz and Deputy Director Sergei Scherbov present their research in Mexico

Wolfgang Lutz and Sergei Scherbov have been invited to share their research with faculty and students as well as relevant stakeholder and policy maker at El Colegio de México in Mexico City. The Center for Demographic, Urban and Environmental Studies at the El Colegio de México is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As part of the activities, the Center is having a number of "Conferencias Magnas" on new topics and methodologies on population studies. Wolfgang Lutz and Sergei Scherbov are the first key note speakers in this series.

On 4 February, Wolfgang Lutz will discuss border issues on demographic research and projections by educational level. The presentation is entitled "Global human capital: Integrating education and population." 

The next day, 5 February, Sergei Scherbov will present his groundbreaking research on Ageing. The title of the presentation is the "New Measure of Age and Ageing."

During their visit in Mexico Lutz and Scherbov are also going to discuss future collaborative projects with Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) and CONACYT.
