Wolfgang Lutz gives 20. Salzburger Vorlesung

Invited by the University of Salzburg, Wolfgang Lutz will discuss the effects of population developments in industrial and developing countries

"Do we really have a demographic problem?" is the leading question to be answered by Wolfgang Lutz at the 20th "Salzburger Vorlesung", a lecture series organized by Rektor Univ.Prof. Dr. Heinrich Schmidinger and Salzburg's mayor Dr. Heinz Schaden.

Lutz will show that the future looks less frightening if education is considered together with the age structure of a population. Based on IIASA research he will explain why increased education stems the severity of ageing societies in industrialized countries and the population explosion in developing countries.
