Katja Enberg

Katja Enberg completed her master of science degree in 2000 and her PhD in 2005 at the University of Helsinki, Finland, both in biology. Her PhD research examined various aspects of sustainable harvesting, in particular fisheries management. After finishing her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in a project dealing with risk assessments for the effects of the release of genetically modified organisms.

Dr. Enberg started at IIASA in April 2006 and is currently working as a postdoctoral research scholar in the Evolution and Ecology Program as part of an EU Specific Targeted Research Project "Understanding the Mechanisms of Stock Recovery" (UNCOVER). Dr. Enberg's research focuses on eco-genetic models of fisheries-induced evolution with particular reference to fish stock recovery processes.
