Christian Jørgensen

His project was related to life history evolution in cod, and he focused on the occurence of skipped spawning for already sexually mature fish. For this work, he was awarded IIASA’s Peccei scholarship, which allowed him to continue the collaboration with Dr. Ulf Dieckmann and Dr. Bruno Ernande during several visits throughout 2004 and 2005. The focus of his more recent collaboration with IIASA has been on methodologies for life history evolution for structured populations in fluctuating environments.

Mr. Jørgensen is currently about to finish his PhD at the University of Bergen, Norway, under the supervision of Dr. Øyvind Fiksen. His thesis topic is life history evolution in Atlantic cod, including potential impacts of fisheries-induced evolution.
