Barbara Fischer

Barbara Fischer completed her Master of Science degree in mathematics at the University of Vienna in July 2005. During her research for her master's thesis she was a member of a research group at the Austrian Research Center Seibersdorf, focusing on mathematical modeling of biokinetic processes in biological wastewater treatment.

Ms. Fischer joined IIASA's Evolution and Ecology Program in September 2006. She is completing her PhD under the joint supervision of IIASA and the University of Bern, Switzerland. Her research interests include the development of mathematical models for exploring evolutionary stable life history strategies and the influence of environmental changes on life histories.
