The Second Lead Author Meeting (LAM2) for the Working Group III (mitigation of climate change) contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) will be held Monday, 30th September to Friday, 4th October 2019 in New Delhi, India. The LAM2 aims to bring together all lead authors and chapter scientists of the Working Group III report. The event will be organized by The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the Government of India, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The Working Group III contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) will be finalized in 2021.

According to IPCC, the Second Lead Author Meeting (LAM2) has several different purposes as follows:

  • To consider review comments on the Zero Order Draft and how these can be addressed.
  • To start the process of preparing a First Order Draft of each chapter.
  • To hold preliminary discussions on the report "storyline" and the Summary for Policymakers.
  • To continue the process started in the First Lead Author Meeting on cross-cutting issues.

IIASA's ENE Department's Ed Byers, Volker Krey, and Keywan Riahi along with TNT's Arnulf Grubler and Luis Gomez Echeverri will be attending.
