Johannes Bednar joined the Ecosystems Services and Management Program (ESM) as a Research Scholar in March 2017, to contribute to the model development within the Imbalance-P project. He is currently involved in the establishment of a global phosphorus supply model, assessing geopolitical strategies to address short-term supply risk, as well as mid- and long-term physical and economic scarcity issues.
Mr. Bednar holds double degrees in physics and European Studies from the University of Vienna, and FH Burgenland, where he conducted his research in ecosystem model stability analysis, as well as in assessing welfare effects of global energy market liberalization processes.
Prior to joining the ESM team, Mr. Bednar worked as a project manager for one of the largest Austrian energy utility firms implementing a corporate CRM-solution. Furthermore, he worked as a software engineer in energy portfolio optimization, focusing on stochastic linear optimization.
