IIASA
This process aims to aid participants to acquire a deeper understanding of the role of uncertainty in decision making, to get experience in developing a resilient water strategy and to raise their awareness about strategic planning methods taking into account the nexus of water with other sectors – notably, food and energy. These methods include, in particular, the analysis of mutually-influencing factors, systems mapping, morphological analysis, scenario building, and multi-criteria decision analysis.
The central part of the process consists of a two-day workshop co-organized by IIASA and OECD. In the format of a live game, the participants will be exposed to selected elements of the strategic planning and will co-design a resilient strategy for a country to move towards achieving SDG6 Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
