The deterioration of the political relations between the EU and Russia has led to the decline in the mutual trade and investments. At the same time, large-scale infrastructure projects, including new transcontinental railway and maritime transport corridors, as well as new natural gas pipelines in Eurasia remain high on the agenda of policy makers and investors, with their potential role to going beyond economics to politics. Connectivity between countries and regions of Eurasia is also rapidly increasing due to digitalization that enables businesses work across the national borders. Business environment becomes more and more competitive and resilient strategies should take these various new trends into account.

This event features IIASA research on the futures of economic cooperation between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and on the emerging business platforms and aims to discuss the implications for business.
