Arctic business environment has gone through tremendous changes within short period of time. Just a few years ago, the prevailing image of the Arctic was that of a modern-day Eldorado. Now the Arctic business conditions have changed significantly. This new situation emphasizes the need for flexibility; businesses need to rethink and refocus their efforts.

In order to navigate in rapidly shifting conditions, you need a trustworthy assessment of the long term perspective. The work of AFI aims at providing more information about the potential future conditions of the region. This forms a fruitful foundation for our collaboration.

As an independent business organization, Arctic Economic Council (AEC) aims at facilitating sustainable Arctic economic and business development. One of the five overarching themes in AEC’s work is facilitating knowledge and data exchange between industry and academia. Collaboration with AFI offers one excellent way to put this into practice.

AEC is proud to be the chosen business partner in AFI’s work. We are willing to continue providing business expertise to the work of AFI. For AEC, the work of AFI provides an opportunity to further enhance our ties to the international research community. We also see that there is great demand for the results of its work.
