IPCC Special Report on Extreme events (SREX) launched

An IPCC Special Report calls for increased efforts to help communities adapt to the growing risks of extreme weather events linked to human-induced climate change.

Launched March 28 SREX outlines observed and projected extreme weather events and potential responses on such issues as land use and infrastructure planning, public health, and insurance. IIASA scientists make a significant contribution to the report as lead or contributing authors across nine chapters.
