Memorandum from the IIASA Council and the IIASA Director General

Recognizing that the challenges of the review consider a wide range of strategic, organizational and governance issues, the Council and the Director General will work together to establish a task force under Council’s leadership to take forward the review recommendations. 

The Council has also determined to initiate a search for an outstanding candidate to build further on IIASA's  legacy of scientific excellence, and the leadership of the present Director General in extending IIASA's global footprint and role. Council is grateful to the present Director General for his agreement to extend his present term to 1 September 2018, in order, with Council, to ensure a stable and successful transition.
