IIASA Director General and CEO Professor Dr. Pavel Kabat  and IIASA Deputy Director General Nebojsa Nakicenovic will join world leaders, policymakers, and top science advisers at the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS), one of the key annual meetings on sustainable development and climate change. Kabat will speak at sessions related to sustainable development, climate assessments, and water resource management, areas of his own research expertise, which are also focal points of IIASA science. Nakicenovic will speak in a session on climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The DSDS, now in its 15th year, is an international platform to facilitate the exchange of knowledge on all aspects of sustainable development. Over the past fourteen years, it has emerged as one of the foremost fora on issues related to global sustainability. This flagship event, hosted by the The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), brings together world leaders, thought leaders, policymakers and top representatives of industry and academia to deliberate on myriad issues.

This year's summit, DSDS 2015, is organized around the theme, "Sustainable Development Goals and Dealing with Climate Change."  The DSDS is an important chance for discussions in a key year for global climate change and development questions. This year, the UN will decide on the new Sustainable Development Goals, and the stage is set for a new climate agreement in Paris in December.
