Strengthening partnership with India
A high-level visit to strengthen IIASA’s partnership with India and participate in the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit.
In February 2015, an IIASA delegation led by Director General and CEO, Professor Dr. Pavel Kabat, visited New Delhi. The objectives were:
- To introduce IIASA to members of the new Indian Government including the Secretaries of the Ministries of Earth Sciences; of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; of New and Renewable Energy; of Water Resources; of Power and of Science and Technology.
- To develop plans and priorities with IIASA's National Member Organization in India (Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council - TIFAC) and the national committee for the India-IIASA Programme (Chaired by Dr Kirit Parikh - Chairman of IRADe).
- To actively participate in the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit 2015, where both Kabat and IIASA Deputy Director General Professor Nebojsa Nakicenovic spoke (more information).
Special Advisor to the Director General Professor Chin-Min Lee accompanied IIASA's Director General and CEO during the visit.
