Gulbenkian Think Tank on Water and the Future of Humankind

IIASA is hosting a meeting on 19-21 April of members of the Gulbenkian Think Tank on Water and the Future.

IIASA Director Pavel Kabat is hosting a meeting of the Gulbenkian Think Tank on Water and the Future of Humanity, of which he is a member, on  19-21 April at IIASA.

The Think Tank was created in 2011 by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Its first meeting was at the Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon,  Lisbon on 6-7 December 2011.

Background

The Think Tank is a panel of international experts which aims to reflect on the main problems facing the field of water in an interdisciplinary and multisectoral way. 

Its discussions are based on water consumption to 2050 and the state of water resources in the global environment and take into account that pressure on water use could create serious constraints to the development of humanity.
