Biography

Thomas Thaler is a research fellow in the Equity and Justice Research Group of the IIASA Population and Just Societies Program. He is also a senior scientist at the Institute of Landscape Planning at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna.

His research at IIASA focuses on governance and social justice in flood risk management, with a particular emphasis on the design and effectiveness of governance systems, as well as the integration of different environmental policies into national and local institutions. He holds a PhD from the Flood Hazard Research Centre at Middlesex University London in the UK.
