Tennis ball     The rules for booking the courts     Tennis ball

The booking procedure:

  1. Booking can be made only via the Web.
  2. Members who have no access to the Web can call the TC hot-line (02236)-807.258 any time during working hours (Mon-Thu 8:30 - 17:30, Fri 8:30-15:00). Someone from the booking team will pick-up the phone and will make the requested reservation. Please note that it might be difficult to reach someone during the lunch break (12:00-13:30) but there is a good chance that someone will pick-up the phone also beyond the official working hours. The booking requests can also be e-mailed:
    tennis.booking@iiasa.ac.at
  3. A booking can only be made for members of the Club whose registrations have been included in the Club Data Base. If you have paid your ticket and submitted a registration but your name is not included in the list of players (which is automatically retrieved from the DB of the Club Members) then please contact the Tennis Club Committee:
    tcc@iiasa.ac.at or tel. (02236)-807.258.
  4. Each member of the Club is identified for booking purposes by a unique (within the Club) Nick-name. A nick-name (max. 10 characters) is selected by a member during the registration (it can be modified by a DB administrator, if necessary to make it unique), and it should preferably be either a nick-name already known in the Club or a first name. A password will be automatically generated and e-mailed to each member that has provided an e-mail address. A correct combination of nick-name (which is included in the choice list called Name on the booking Web page) and password is a necessary and sufficient condition for making a booking.
  5. Guests:
    1. A member can invite a guest (for a single), or two or three guests (for a double) to play with him/her. There is a charge for each reservation for a guest.
    2. Exceptionally, a member may make a booking for two (or four) guests of his/her to play together. A fee per court per hour is payable. It is the responsibility of the member making the booking that the charge is paid, and that the Club rules are upheld.

In order to provide each member of the Club with a fair chance to play, the following rules are implemented for the electronic booking:

  1. Bookings can be made for the current day and for the next 7 days. The day, time and court can be selected either by clicking on the corresponding grid in the graphical interface or by selecting the desired day, time, court combination from the choice list in the text mode. Both graphical and text interface provide the access to the same booking procedure, and both display eight days starting from the current day.
  2. A booking (and a subsequent cancellation/modification) can be made only by a member who is one of the players specified for the booking. This restriction does not apply to members of the Booking Team who can make bookings for all members of the Club. Members holding free tickets, however, are not able to make bookings themselves.
  3. A member introducing his/her guests should during the selection of players select her/his name as the first player, and the 2GUESTS code for the second player, which implies two guests as Player1 and Player2 booked by the member of the Club. Optionally two more guests can be selected, if an "all guest double" is booked.
  4. Cancellation of a booking should be made as soon as players know that they will not be able to play . Please consult the Rules of the Club for a no show.
  5. For each booking involving a member holding a points ticket the appropriate number of points (depending on the number of hours booked and whether singles or doubles) will be automatically deducted from the member's points total unless
  6. Bookings can be made for a maximum of 3 hours for each Member and for each day. This rule is not applied to trainers.
  7. Booking in peak-time:
    1. Peak-time hours are defined for days/hours with typically high demand (such hours are marked by a different color on the booking table).
    2. There are four peak-time day-zones that are defined every day: the first is the current day, the second is the subsequent day, the third is composed of the next three subsequent days and the fourth is composed of the next three subsequent days.
For example, if today is Thursday, then: the second zone is Friday, the third zone is composed of Sat, Sun, Mon, and the fourth zone is Tue, Wed and next Thu.
    3. Booking can be made for a maximum of 2 hours for each Member and for each day-zone.
  8. No restrictions are applied for bookings made for guests. Charges for guests are effective for each booking involving a guest unless
