Gregory received M.Sc. in Econometrics and Ph.D. in Economic Science - Operations Research from the Warsaw School of Economics. His research interests include individual and group decision-making, negotiations, artificial intelligence, decision support and simulation. He has written over hundred refereed papers and has published articles in some twenty journals. During the last five years he received grants totalling over $4,5 million. He was the principal investigator of an NSERC Strategic Grant ($385,000) awarded for 1991-95 and of a $168,500 Social SSHRC Strategic Grant awarded for 1995-1999. He was a visiting professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a senior research scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.
