RAINS-ASIA: Hardware requirements
In order to enable wide dissemination of RAINS-Asia, the software is
designed to be operational on standard PC configurations. Minimum requirements
are:
IBM-compatible PC (Pentium, 486, or 386 with co-processor)
Minimum 4 Mb RAM (8 Mb recommended)
About 43 Mb free memory on hard disk
Standard VGA display or better
DOS 5.0 or higher, also operational under Windows95
Although RAINS-Asia has been designed to operate even in a MS-DOS environment,
it provides a windows-style, user friendly interactive interface and extensive
on-line help features. High quality graphical output (e.g., maps of sulfur
deposition, exceedances of critical loads, etc.) can be printed on any
POSTSCRIPT capable printer. The software is accompanied by two user manuals
and a step-by-step tutorial explaining twenty typical application sessions
of the model.
