Günther Fischer participated in the International Workshop on "Pathways for Climate Resilient Livelihoods in Himalayan River Basins" organized by the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) and held on 1-2 August 2013 in New Delhi. He delivered a presentation on "Models for Himalayan River Basins."

After the workshop, Günther Fischer and David Wiberg travelled to Anand to visit IRMA for a meeting with partners from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan to work on an invited CARIAA proposal development on "Increasing Resilience of Livelihoods to Climate Change in Glacier and Snowpack dependent River Basins of South Asia."

CARIAA is the Collaborative Adaptation Research Initiative in Africa and Asia program. Funded by IDRC and the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID), CARIAA’s goal is to develop robust evidence to inform how to increase the resilience of vulnerable populations in climate change hot spots in Africa and Asia.
