Laixiang Sun, Günther Fischer and Guiying Cao met Chinese collaborators in Beijing and Shanghai in February 2013.

Laixiang Sun and Guiying Cao attended the annual meeting and data analysis workshop in Chongqing on 21-23 December 2013.

The IIASA team has made contributions to first round of the rural household survey in terms of questionnaire design and survey data analysis.

The IIASA team has produced two methodological working papers in 2013: One by Laixiang Sun on “The Comparative Static Non-separable Household Model on Land Abandonment Decision” and the other by Yuri Ermoliev, Tatiana Ermolieva, and Laixiang Sun on “Household Decision under Risks: Land Abandonment and Off-farm Activities”.

Further work on these two models are needed in order for them to be able to provide theoretical reasoning for the empirical analysis based on the two round of household survey data.
