About the speaker

Dr. Anthony Patt leads the Decisions and Governance research group within IIASA's Risk and Vulnerability program. His research focuses primarily on environmental decision-making, investigating how individual and collective choices enhance or interfere with the effectiveness of environmental policies. He works primarily in the area of climate change, considering both adaptation and mitigation policies. He has conducted extensive field research on climate adaptation in Africa. Dr Patt was a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Fourth Assessment Report, is an Associate Editor of the journals Regional Environmental Change and Climate & Development, and is on the editorial board of Global Environmental Change. He taught for four years at Boston University, as Assistant Professor of Environmental Policy in the Department of Geography and Environment.
