World Water Week 2015

The theme of the "World Water Week 2015" is ‘Water for Development’ discussing Financing, SDGs, Integrity, Gender issues, Climate Change, Energy, Sanitation, Food, Conflict Resolution, Water Management and other topics. The program consist of over 160 events and 8 workshops.

Dr. David Wiberg, the interim program leader for IIASA’s Water Program managing the Water Futures and Solutions Initiative (WFaS), where systems analysis is applied to build and explore with stakeholders consistent scenarios of the freshwater system across scales and sectors, and exploring the synergies and tradeoffs of intervention options in order to inform decisions focused on more effective and robust water management actively represents IIASA at WWW 2015 as part of the WWW´s Scientific Programme Committee. Latest findings within the WFaS Initiative will be presented and discussed.

Via a larger collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and as part of a knowledge and innovation support project between IIASA and ADB, Dr.Wiberg provides essential insights and latest findings on Asia´s water futures. During the events themed "Eye on Asia" he presents IIASA´s latest findings and contributes by providing input to various roundtable discussions.

Furthermore Dr. Luzma Nava Jimenéz, IIASA Collosio Fellow represents IIASA at WWW 2015 providing input based on her research dedicated to Comparative approaches to transboundary water resources and environmental governance along the United States and Mexico border, with case studies of the Rio Grande/Río Bravo Basin and the Colorado River Basin. She further actively contributed to the launch of Global Water Partnership´s (GWP) new Youth Engagement Strategy
