Global emission fields of air pollutants as input for experiments with climate and atmospheric chemistry models

IIASA has developed sets of global emission fields for the major atmospheric pollutants that can be readily used as input for experiments with global atmospheric chemistry and climate models.

Emission fields (in netCDF format) are available for download for historic years 2005 and 2010, and projections for 2030 and 2050. Projections assume business-as-usual economic development and implementation of all currently agreed emission control legislation.

Emission fields for alternative assumptions on future development (e.g., a maximum technically feasible emission reduction scenario) are under development.

This work has been conducted under the FP7 ECLIPSE and PEGASOS projects.
