This collection of projections for 49 European countries, EU-28, USA and Japan by age, sex and four levels of educational attainment is the result of a multi-state model of population dynamics. It includes differential fertility, mortality and migration rates. Additionally to country specific rates and country rankings, the European Demographic Data Sheet 2014 contains regional overviews on population change, aging, and fertility indicators, summarizes the total fertility rate in selected regions of Europe and in the USA, provides information on female advantage and the reversed gender gap in tertiary education in Europe, and offers many other relevant details in the study of population.

The project is a collaboration within the Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital (IIASA, VID/ÖAW, WU) and updates the work from previous years including more recent demographic and education data. In addition to a focus on migration, the data sheet also highlights re-measuring aging in Europe and tempo effects and adjusted total fertility.
