Kerstin Damerau joined IIASA’s Risk and Vulnerability Program (RAV) as a Research Assistant in October 2009 following an internship with Cemagref Clermont-Ferrand, France. She is currently enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna and is working within an ECF project, where she is focusing on the feasibility of concentrated solar power in North Africa.
Ms. Damerau received her master's degree in theoretical and applied geography in the fall of 2008, having studied geography at the University of Bonn, the University of Bologna, and most recently the University of Vienna. During her studies she focused mainly on climate change and renewables, as well as hazard research and economic geography. Her thesis was written at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, where she concentrated on the development of energy scenarios.
