Understanding social, economic and environmental implications of the Trans-Mediterranean renewable power cooperation

IIASA´s Risk, Policy and Vulnerability Program will be hosting a two-day workshop to discuss major goals and objectives of the project “Social challenges of Trans-Mediterranean renewable power cooperation” (Coop Challenges) supported by the European Research Council (ERC).

The agenda will include research ideas, possible synergies and cooperation among three topics such as risk perceptions and public acceptance, economic and human development in MENA, environmental constraints and potential conflicts. Further on, participants will discuss next steps, possible partnerships with stakeholders and organizations in Europe and in MENA and organization of a follow-up workshop.
