Energy Research, 1973-Present

Energy research at IIASA goes back to the foundation of the Institute itself. In fact, the very first scientist to arrive at IIASA in June 1973 came to work on the Energy Project, IIASA's first project. 

The IIASA Energy Program is undertaking a number of research topics are under its current research plan, the roots of which are firmly embedded in decades of energy research. 

An overview of energy research at IIASA is provided here.

The current research activities are both an extension and a new take on this proud history.
