Christopher Dresel joined the Ecosystems Services and Management (ESM) Program at IIASA in September 2015 as a Research Assistant. He is developing GIS related applications for the Earth Observation Systems group (EOS), bringing along several years of experience as a freelance desktop and web developer. He is especially involved in the LACO-Wiki project as a lead software architect. From 2011 until 2015, prior to joining IIASA, Mr. Dresel worked for the University of Applied Sciences in Wiener Neustadt, where he participated in various internal and external IT / GIS projects and their conception. Furthermore, he gained teaching experience in GIS related topics and assisted students.
Mr. Dresel received his MSc degree in Information Technology / Geomatics in 2011, from the University of Applied Sciences in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. Additionally, he also lectures for desktop and mobile GIS applications development and web programming at the same university. His interests are IT in general and software architecture and development for GIS systems in particular.
