Juraj Balkovic joined the Ecosystems Services and Management (ESM) Program in March 2012 as a Research Scholar. His research includes the use of geographic information in landscape studies and large-scale simulations of crop production systems. Dr. Balkovic will mainly work on crop model validation and agricultural input data processing.
Dr. Balkovic received his master’s degree in 1999 and his doctorate in 2003, both in soil science at the Comenius University in Bratislava (SK). From 2003 to 2011 he was an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Comenius University, and a Research Associate at the Soil Science and Conservation Research Institute (SK). His scientific interest is in soil science and plant sociology.
