XIII conference of Stochastic Programming Society in Bergamo, Italy

Yuri Ermoliev, Tatiana Ermolieva, Petr Havlik, Aline Mosnier and Michael Obersteiner gave a talk “Robust rescaling methods for integrated security management under uncertainty” at the XIII conference of Stochastic Programming Society (SPS) which took place in Bergamo, Italy from 8th to 12th July 2013.

Bergamo hosted a XIII conference of Stochastic Programming Society (SPS) which is a world-wide group of researchers who are developing models, methods for making decisions under uncertainty. The talk presented methodology and practical application of a novel stochastic optimization approach for robust non-Bayesian probabilistic downscaling techniques under uncertain distributions. The downscaling is motivated by the need to address local heterogeneities related to secure food, water, energy management consistently with available aggregate data and projections of global and national development trends.
