IIASA participates in the II Zambezi Basin Stakeholder Forum "Benefits of Co-operation and Basin-wide Planning in the Management and Development of Shared Water Resources"

The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM) in collaboration with its partners, will hold the annual Zambezi Basin-wide Stakeholders Forum from 25 – 26 September at Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. This Forum brings together those with an interest in the Zambezi river basin to share information and experiences around the theme of "Benefits of Co-operation and Basin-wide Planning in the Management and Development of Shared Water Resources” A small delegation of IIASA researchers will attend the Forum and run an interactive session on "Applying nexus approach to generate new synergies and resolve trade-offs for the Zambezi basin-wide planning". This activity is part of the stakeholder consultations designed within the Integrated Solutions for Water, Energy and Land project (ISWEL), and pursues to gather information from the different actors and riparian countries on what are the most important nexus challenges in the Zambezi, share knowledge, and build partnerships with regional organizations interested in engaging in the ISWEL project.
