The following countries, via representative scientific organizations (NMOs), represent some of the most significant partnerships established by IIASA: 

Australia

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) became the National Member Organization of IIASA in January 2013. More

Austria

The Austrian Academy of Sciences is the National Member Organization representing Austria. Austria is the host country of IIASA. More

Brazil

Brazil became a member of IIASA in 2011, and the Center for Strategic Studies and Management Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE) is Brazil’s National Member Organization. More

China

The People's Republic of China became a member of IIASA in 2002, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is China’s National Member Organization. More

Egypt

Egypt became a member of IIASA in 2003, and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) is Egypt’s National Member Organization. More

Finland

The Academy of Finland became an IIASA National Member Organization in 1976. More

Germany

The National Member Organization (NMO) for Germany is the German Association for the Advancement of IIASA. More

India

In January 2007, India, through the Department of Science and Technology's Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) formally joined IIASA as one of its 18 National Member Organizations. More

Indonesia

The Indonesian National Committee for IIASA became the National Member Organization of IIASA in June 2012. More

Japan

As one of IIASA's founding organizations, the Japan Committee for IIASA has supported IIASA throughout its 40 year history, having been part of the original IIASA Charter, signed by Professor K. Miyasawa, in London on the 4th October 1972. More

Malaysia

The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) became a National Member Organization of IIASA in 2011. More

Netherlands

The Netherlands became a member of IIASA in 1977 through the Foundation IIASA-Netherlands. More

Norway

IIASA and Norway have been research collaborators since IIASA was established in 1972. In 1996 Norway became a formal member of IIASA via The Research Council of Norway. More

Pakistan

Pakistan officially became a member of IIASA through the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) in 2007. More

Republic of Korea

The National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) became an IIASA National Member Organization in 2008, representing the Republic of Korea More

Russian Federation

The Russian Academy of Sciences is the organization representing the Russian Federation’s membership of IIASA. More

South Africa

South Africa became a member of IIASA in 2007 through its member organization, the National Research Foundation (NRF). More

Sweden

Sweden is a long-term and consistent member of IIASA, having joined the Institute in July 1976 under the signatory of Dr. Carl Gustav Jennergren for the Swedish Committee for IIASA. More

Ukraine

Ukraine became a member of IIASA in 1994 and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NAS) is the National Member Organization. More

United States of America

The National Academy of Sciences, one of the founding members of IIASA, is the National Member Organization representing the United States of America.  More
