Swedish Launch of the Global Energy Assessment

The Global Energy Assessment, in cooperation with the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund, will be presented on the 25 January, 2013. The event features many prominent contributors to the Assessment.

The event, lasting from 9:00-12:00, will highlight the key findings of the Global Energy Assessment and will place particular emphasis on the following three themes:

  1. energy and sustainability changes;
  2. long-term energy scenarios; and
  3. policies for sustainable energy systems.

The event features Swedish and International contributors to the Global Energy Assessment, as well as other leading experts from academia, industry and politics to discuss the future pathways to a sustainable future.  

Notable participants are:

  • Thomas. B. Johansson, GEA Executive Committee co-Chair
  • Aleh Cherp and Diana Urge-Vorsatz, the convening lead authors on energy security and energy efficiency in buildings
  • Anders Wijkman, member of the GEA council 
  • Tomas Kåberger, member of the GEA council and former director of the Swedish Energy Agency.

At the event GEA lead authors, Lena Neij, Luis Mundaca and Lars J. Nilsson will explore and discuss energy innovation systems, energy scenarios, energy policies and the present and future of global energy systems.
