German Launch of the Global Energy Assessment

The Global Energy Assessment, in co-operation with the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU), will be presented at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in Berlin on 12 December, 2012, from 14:00-16:00.

The event will highlight the key findings of the Global Energy Assessment with particular emphasis and discussion being placed on the implications for a transformation of German energy systems. This event will bring together leading German experts from academics, industry and politics to discuss the possible pathways towards a sustainable future in Germany and world-wide.

The press conference will include IIASA Deputy Director Nebojsa Nakicenovic, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schmid, former director of the Fraunhofer Instituts für Windenergie und Energiesystemtechnik (IWES).
