CONACYT Fellowship

The National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) in Mexico offers postdoctoral scholarships for researches to come to IIASA.

The scholarships aims to support researchers conducting research on topics closely related to IIASA’s research agenda. Scholars can spend up to two years at IIASA. Administrative, computer and library support as well as other research-related resources are provided by IIASA. 

Requirements

Those interested in using this opportunity to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment should acknowledge the following:

  • Applicant’s research interests should fit with existing research projects at IIASA.
  • A research proposal summary/abstract (in English and Spanish) that includes:
    • Main research questions and objectives,
    • Methods and approach,
    • Data required (if relevant),
    • Innovative aspects,
    • Expected results and risks for success,
    • An explanation of how research and expected deliverables will strengthen research capacities of IIASA and institutions in Mexico
  • A current CV (max. three pages)
  • Proof of a Ph.D. degree (applicant should have held a doctoral degree for less than 5 years at the application deadline)
  • Two reference letters

 The deadline for applications for 2017 is 1 October 2016 (with the expectation to start in early 2017).

Funding

A stipend of €39,000 scholarship is paid directly to the individual.
