The Program is strongly connected to the international academic community, placing emphasis on transdisciplinary synergies and applied approaches. The work accomplished has long been recognized through regular publication in high-ranking scientific journals. In addition, the ESM Program has been invited to participate in numerous policy-oriented consultations and large scale scientific exercises.

  • PhD degree in economics with a strong background in quantitative methods and focus on agriculture or resource management, or a master’s degree with a minimum of five years research experience in the same areas
  • Proven analytical skills and ease in manipulating large data sets and complex modeling systems
  • Experience with large scale applied economic models either at sector level or in the general equilibrium framework advantageous
  • Strong interest in ESM topics, in particular agriculture, forestry, water, land-use, climate change adaptation and mitigation
