Impacts and implications of rapid urbanization in China

Accelerating urbanization in China, spurred by rapid growth and globalization, is the focus of a Population & Environment special issue co-edited by IIASA researchers Landis MacKellar, Gui-Ying Cao, and Jose Siri.

The journal papers examine the implications of rapid urbanization for water, food, energy, and other natural resources, and explore what policies could ensure the environmental and social sustainability of urbanization in China.
