Anatolij P. Shpak 1949–2011

Academician Anatolij P. Shpak, the first Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine and the Council Member representing Ukraine on IIASA's Governing Council, has recently died at the age of 62.

He served on the IIASA Council from 1995 to 2011 and was the Director of the Institute of Metal Physics at the NAS.
