US Secretary of State announces new global clean air initiative

The contribution of IIASA’s GAINS model in guiding climate change mitigation action has been recognised in an address by US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton at the launch of the US Climate and Clean Air Coalition, which aims to reduce short-lived air pollutants.

Sec. Clinton cites the “...exceptional work already done to investigate how to reduce these pollutants,” and refers to the recent UNEP study that employs GAINS to identify 16 key actions.
