The Harmonized World Soil Database (HWSD) was adopted by the Global Soil Partnership as the definitive database for global analyses during a meeting in Rome attended by IIASA scientist David Wiberg, a lead HWSD author.
The USDA and CSIRO agreed to provide new soil data from the United States and Australia within the next year, and plans were made for updated information from Canada, Europe, West Africa, and South Asia.
