In 2014, the Czech Government Council for Sustainable Development has undergone restructuring to strengthen its capacity to mainstream the sustainable development agenda in future decision-making processes. This forum was a platform to discuss its opportunities and challenges, and, most importantly, share knowledge and experience on the three pillars of sustainable development: the social, the economic, and the environmental.
The forum was held in conjunction with the submission of a new national sustainable development strategy Czech Republic 2030 to the Government of the Czech Republic by the end of 2016. The main topic wasl the field of future studies and their relevance for formulating long-term policies on national as well as global level.
Kabat gave a keynote speech, titled "The World in 2050: Benefits of Systems Science towards Sustainable Transformation", and participated in a chaired discussion.
