Economies in transition - 20 years after conference

The President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus was among the distinguished speakers and participants at the Economies in Transition Conference, organized by IIASA and the New Economics School, Moscow, 13-14 January.

The event, also involving the Director Designate Pavel Kabat, analyzed economic transitions that have taken place in Central and Eastern Europe in the 20 years since IIASA hosted a series of “planned to market” economy meetings. Discussions focused on how past transitions can inform future economic reform. More.
