Strengthening connections with China

During the October 2014 trip to China, IIASA leadership participated in high-level meetings.

In October, IIASA Director General and CEO, Professor Dr. Pavel Kabat, Deputy Director Professor Nebojsa Nakicenovic, and Special Advisor to the Director General Chin-Min Lee traveled to Beijing.

Kabat and Lee presented IIASA and its proposed International School of Excellence at the IGFA Belmont Forum meeting of funding agencies for global change research. They also participated in high-level meetings with the leadership of Peking University, Tsinghua University and the NSFC. While at Tsinghua University, President Chen, a member of the Alpbach-Laxenburg Group, introduced a public lecture by Kabat.

In Beijng Kabat and Lee presented IIASA and its proposed International School of Excellence at the IGFA Belmont Forum meeting of funding agencies for global change research.
