Manfred Grauer was one of the leading scientists in IIASA's System and Decision Sciences Program from 1981 to 1986. During those years he made salient and fundamental contributions to our research in the methodology area, including path-breaking studies on optimization of complex systems and interactive decision support approaches.
On September 30, 2011, Professor Grauer's colloquium lecture celebrated his twenty-two year career at the University of Siegen. IIASA was honored that for the occasion Manfred requested donations be made to IIASA in lieu of gifts, which supported IIASA's Annual and Endowment Funds.
